Enabling High-Performance Networking Appliances
The Movidis x16 NAP leverages the incredibly powerful OCTEON Network Services Processor from Cavium Networks.
The NAP is the ideal (is designed) ultra high-performance platform for OEMs ideal for creating state-of-the-art enterprise network appliances without long, expensive hardware development cycles, and without the need for custom board or ASIC designs.
Flexibility Meets Function
The x16 NAP is built for flexibility and broad application, serving as an agile platform that helps OEMs speed new products to market and our Linux-ready platform makes it incredibly easy for OEMs to port their tested software.
The NAP uses the industry-standard ATX form factor, so it can fit into off-the-shelf cases and replace obsolete PC motherboard-based designs. With several assembly options, it allows OEMs to specify the configuration that best meets the needs of their application.
Power You Can Use
The x16 NAP provides unparalleled performance while consuming just 50 watts of power. This is made possible by advanced design based on the CN3860 OCTEONTM 16-core MIPS64 processor.
The OCTEON includes integrated acceleration engines for TCP packet processing, encryption, and compression, so the bulk of its 9.6GHz of processing power is dedicated to your applications like network security, encryption, load balancing, WAN optimization, network storage, or network access control.
Eight 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports are provided, along with four sockets for DDR2 registered SDRAM DIMMs.
